About Angela Bass

Oakland native Angela J. Bass has written for the San Francisco Bay Guardian, Via Magazine and Bay Area Business Woman News, among other publications. She has also produced news segments for KALW 91.7 FM and KPFA 94.1 FM.
She spent spring break 2009 in South Africa reporting on a new HIV transmission prevention method, and summer 2009 reporting on health issues at the Baltimore Sun.
She highlights issues related to women, girls and people of color in the Bay Area and abroad, and groups that have been historically misrepresented by the media.
In 2010, she obtained her Master’s from UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism. She earned a B.A. in Creative Writing from San Francisco State in 2004.
